Ellis Island in Newyork Harbour was the entry point to ancient imigrants to United states. From 1892 to 1954 ,12 million imigrants entered United states.Ellis Island played an important role in United states history.

In 1965 president Lyndon declared, Ellis Island as a national monument and is a part of Statue of liberty, national monument. The main building was reopened on 1990 for the public.
